Jan Cobb

B.S., Stephen F. Austin State University; M.S., Texas A&M University – Commerce; Library Science Certification, Sam Houston State University

Jan is fulfilling a lifelong passion for reading and learning as the Christ Episcopal School librarian and finds no greater delight than passing that torch to young students. Jan says, “Kindling the fire for preschoolers is a fun and rewarding task; finding just the right "fuel" to keep the torch burning for maturing students is the force that drives me.”

A Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, with an emphasis in reading, and a Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University - Commerce, with all-level Reading Specialist Certification, prefaced a rewarding teaching career. Her years in the classroom ranged from math teacher to reading teacher and included many years as a 4th grade teacher.

Lured by the opportunity to further her own education in a field that she loves, Jan completed the library science program at Sam Houston State University. She was a public school teacher/librarian with Nacogdoches I.S.D. for 25 years.

Jan joined the CES faculty in 2011 and is grateful to be able to call Christ Episcopal School "home". She invites you to visit the school’s collection of over 10,000 items available in the library.
