A COVID-19 Update
From Our Head of School

Dear CES Parents,

I am still waiting to receive the fall guidelines for the reopening of schools from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in Austin. As of today, there has been no update on fall in-person school health and safety guidelines. No date of release has been mentioned. They are working to get this out as quickly as possible. I will update you as soon as I receive the necessary information.

CES is planning to begin classes on August 24th using guidance from TEA, Nacogdoches Independent School District (NISD), and the Governor’s office. On July 2, 2020, Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order stated that beginning on July 3rd:

Every person in Texas shall wear a face covering over the nose and mouth when inside a commercial entity or other building or space open to the public, or when in an outdoor public space, wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household.
Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or concerns. There is a lot to think about. The physical and emotional health of the students, their families, and our faculty and staff are of the utmost importance. I am praying that things will be as normal as possible beginning on August 24th, taking COVID-19 seriously and doing our very best to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,
Catherine F. Oliver,
Head of School

Mission Statement

Christ Episcopal School is a diverse community of learners who participate in an enriched academic program in a nurturing Christian environment which fosters a dedication to service and a love of life-long learning.

"My son is a current Kindergartener at Christ Episcopal School and I have only positive words to say about his teacher and the environment in his classroom. It has been an amazing year filled with an inspiring and challenging curriculum as well as an array of creative and fun learning centers. His teacher is kind, focused, experienced, and knowledgeable about the academic and social situations in her classroom. She has been very tolerant with my son's sometimes active behavior and has only offered me understanding and informative words. I look forward to continued years of a solid, nurturing, and thorough education at Christ Episcopal School."
